Description: Two large trees to the left and the Kelburn Kiosk, (or the Skyline Kiosk, a restaurant), a large Gothic-style building with turrets and verandahs, built around 1902. The colour of the ink and paper in this print differs slightly from those at A-071-017 and A-071-017-a. Accompanied by backing board with inscription about provenance. Other Titles - Kelburn Tea Kiosk Wellington Inscriptions: Verso - centre - Kelburn Tea Kiosk Wellington; Backing board recto - centre - The Kelburn cable car and totara tree. This etching was given to me by Mrs Kathleen Andersen, daughter-in-law of Katherine and Johannes Andersen (J A was Turnbull's first librarian). It was owned by Johannes and his wife having acquired it from W F Barraud ... On the marriage of their son Laurence Andersen to Kathleen, 24.6.31, and particularly because the reception was held in the restaurant at the top of the Cable Car, the Andersens gave it to Laurence and their daughter-in-law. Description: Two bound volumes of 'The 9.5 am' (No 1, Feb 1902 - Vol 2 No 11, Dec 1903). Each volume contains issues of the '9.5 am' magazine, edited by Johannes Andersen. Comprises typewritten text of the magazine, with photographs, original drawings, printed illustrations (and newspaper clippings) from other publications pasted in. The content includes articles, cartoons, jokes, poems, and excerpts. Source of title - Supplied by Library The 9.5 am publication derived its title from the practice of giving civil servants 5 minutes grace after 9am to sign the attendance book before a red line was ruled to identify late-comers. Source: Press, 13 May 1903. The magazine was edited by Johannes Andersen when he was employed as a clerk at the Lands and Survey Department, Christchurch office. F M B Fisher was also employed as a clerk there at the same time, and contributed to the publication. Quantity: 2 volume(s). 0.08 Linear Metres.
