Description: Cadastral map showing area 9 miles south of Tauranga, from the Ruahihi Bridge bordering the Kumi Kumi land blocks on the west and the Kaimai and the Tauwharawhara on the east. The Mangapapa River is shown, along with the Mangakarengorengo, Ngaumuwahine and Manga Hurengorengo Streams. Most of the land blocks indicate their acreage. In the Whaitikuranui no. 6b block, diagram and text which reads 'Thames Valley Co. Station Homestead'. The road or track from Cambridge (Okoroire) to Tauranga is shown to be 31 miles. A pencil annotation shows the Ongaonga no. 2 block and the Kumi Kumi no. 1 block (up to the Ngaumuwahine Stream) subdivided. The map has pencil and some ink annotations. Description: Shows area of land bounded by London, Ingestre streets and Victoria Avenue, Wanganui. Gives sections and section numbers (in most cases) in this area. Has an area marked as 'proposed new grounds for boy's college' with acreage. Next to this, is a block with a note: 'about 44 acres let on short grazing leases'. Another block has 'about 61 acreas let on grazing leases expiring 1909' written on it. One section near Victoria Avenue and Plymouth St is marked 'Mr Watson's house' and an adjacent section has 'garden' written on it. The Wanganui Aramoho railway is indicated. Other streets shown are Hatrick, Purnell, Wilson, Nixon, St Hill, Glasgow, Liverpool and Dublin. There is some pencil annotation on the map one of which is 'Mr W E Atkinson's school'. Description: Map showing old military installations from the New Zealand Wars, 1843-7 and the home guard sites of New Zealand Army in World War II. Sites from the New Zealand War include Te Rangihaeata's stronghold (1846), the site of a chapel and the colonial cemetery at Pauatahanui, military trenches (one named McKillops), the barracks of the 65th regiment, the officer's quarters, the Boulton's Hotel of 1847, Troopers Hill, isolated Maori grave along Paekakariki Hill Road, the landing stage of the 58th and 65th regiments, Tandy's constablulary's post and the Waitaha Maori at Ration Point. Sites during World War II include the home guard headquarters of 1941 at Jones Deviation, the 1939 New Zealand Army Unit and United States Marines 2nd division near Kakaho Stream, as well as the Duck Creek saw mill at Bradey's Bay. Description: A cadastral lithograph map of the Auckland Land District has been used to focus on Māori settlements in the immediate area around the Kawhia and Aotea Harbours which is outlined in blue pencil and is numbered Map No. 4. All settlement names are written in Māori and the more recent names have been crossed out including names of Mission Stations. Handwritten names are Makomako, Owhakarito, Horoure, Motungaio, Pouwewe, Ahure, Ngatoka-Kairere Isle, Hikupoarea [Pa], Titirimatangi Pt., Te Arawi, Te Kawau, Whenuapao, Taharoa Lake. The battle site of Te Kakara is marked. One road is labelled 'Modern road' and some parish boundaries and streams have 'x' handwritten at regular intervals along their length. A key to these places, handwritten in pencil on the left side of the outline, include references, e.g. 'p.8', which are possibly page numbers, but without any explanation.
