Source of title - Supplied Politician and farmer. Seymour was born in England and arrived in New Zealand in 1851, settling in Marlborough, where he had a large run. He was prominent in Marlborough provincial politics, serving twice as Superintendant. He was also active in national politics, serving firstly on the Legislative Council and later as a MP for Wairau and Waimea-Picton. He was also a member of various Marlborough local bodies.
