The view is probably taken in the spring, with blossom visible on the trees in the foreground The first Townend Glasshouse, an orchid and begonia house, was left to the city by Annie Quayle Townend in 1914. It originally stood in the grounds of Holly Lea, a large Christchurch property, but was moved to the Botanical Gardens, being replaced by the current Townend Glasshouse building in 1955 Quantity: 1 watercolour(s).
