Description: Central text of praise for Seddon's attendance at Coronation of Edward VII, and for sending Maori forces to fight (in Boer War?). Text inset into stylised Maori carved house, surrounded by various New Zealand native trees. Top shows 4 flags, Maori in traditional and European army dress, a view of Mt Cook, and a picture of a white heron. Below text is a Maori war canoe containing Maori paddlers and European passengers. Palm trees on either side of steps up to the front verandah on the left of the bay with an unidentified woman standing by a verandah post. Turreted room at ground level (perhaps a conservatory) on the left. Retaining wall between the house and lawn at a lower level. Flower beds around the drive and some set into the lawn. Description: The first and largest section of this album records a trip in Canada and possibly the United States, made by a young man with a motor car about 1923. The second section are photographs taken on a visit to possibly Hawaii or Tahiti. Local people are recorded as well as a number of yachts tied up along the waterfront of a town, and a white warship. The third section include family photographs taken in Britain in the 1890s, and several shipboard views, two of which show what are probably crossing the line ceremonies involving a canvas swimming pool.
