Description: Cadastral map of two lots with acreages and boundary measurements on Seatoun Heights Road. Includes a twenty foot wide right of way to a back section and a twenty foot wide reserve from the Wellington City Council reservoir. The annotation to this base map is the addition of colourwash to highlight the sections. The second map is a locality plan of the area from Scots College and Monorgan Road to Miramar South School and Park Road. Includes the Pass of Branda, Marine Parade and Awa Street. A library is marked on Broadway, includes sites of a quarry, reservoir, a convent and Roman Catholic School, an Anglican Church and nearby residence, a Presbyterian Church, tennis courts and bowling green, a school, Beacon Hill Signal Station Reserve, Military Reserve, Seatoun Park, Seatoun Wharf, Telegraph Reserve, Worser Bay. Streets are named and the route of the tramway is marked. The annotation to this map is the position of the land for sale on Seatoun Heights Road. Map accompanied by a copy of a typewritten letter dated 11th January 1937, from H. Gyles Turner of the Wellington Harbour Board, Chief Engineer's office to Gordon Harcourt, 153-155 Featherston Street, Wellington. The content of the letter refers to the accompanying plans and the varying prices for the sections. Reference is made to the location on the Seatoun side of the hill, includes details of shelter from the winds, and refers to the exceptional view. Description: Cadastral map of the area between Oriental Parade and McFarlane Street, Wellington. Four numbered lots include acreages and boundary mesurements. Lot 1 includes the site of a shed and garage. The site of a residence is marked on Lot 2 and a note refers to the building alignment from McFarland Street. A garage from an adjoining section is noted as 7" over the boundary of Lot 4. Private ways have boundary measurements and their respective acreages are added to the totals of relevant lots. Description: Cadastral map of numerous numbered sections, Lots 2 and 4, with acreages and measurements, of the estate of C. A. Pownall, between South Road, Donald Street and High Street, Masterton. Some sections are marked as sold and include prices in pounds sterling. Sites of houses are marked, some residences include owners' names of Gordon, Pownall, Devonport, Duncan. The site of Wyatt's Store is marked at the junction of Kurupuni Lane and South Road. Includes Vivian Street and directions are given for Carterton and Masterton. The second map is a locality plan of the area from King Street to Vivian Street. The post office, school and fishponds are marked. Description: Cadastral map of numerous numbered sections on either side of Cole Street and the Waipouhuku Stream adjacent to Renall Estate. Includes measurements and prices in pounds sterling which correspond with the attached list on Chennell's notepaper. The Makoura Creek is named. A line, prominently marked, appears to be a fenceline but is not referred to in either a key or notes. Sites of houses are marked in few sections. Names include Miss Cole, H. Description: The base map, from the New Zealand cadastral map Town Series, of Wellington city encompasses part of Island Bay Parade and Lyall Parade to Evans Bay to Kaiwharawhara to Wilton Road to Happy Valley Road. The City and County boundary is prominently marked, as is the Registration District boundary. Suburbs are named. Reclaimed land is shown. Wharves and waterfront buildings are named. The Wellington Harbour and Corporation Land Act 1880 is referred to. Annotations to this map are areas of Maori reserves, referred to in a key. The largest area is between Waripori Street, Rintoul Street, a reserve and Adelaide Road, Russell Terrace and Florence Street. Several small reserve areas are marked in Newtown and Berhampore. Sections 4 and 5 are either side of Millard Avenue, adjoining South Road. Section 29 is either side of Andrew Street adjoining Millard Avenue. Includes Cockburn Street. Adjacent sections are marked. Description: The main map is a copy of cadastral base map of part of Pinehaven which has been used to show drainage easements, proposed road called Birch Grove, a recreation reserve and section boundaries between Pinehaven Road and an adjcaent stream. Numbered sections include acreages and boundary measurements. Building lines around Birch Grove are shown. A sum of acreages of residential lots, recreational and school reserves, the new road, easements are totalled. Description: A plan of J.E. Chamberlain's farm, adjacent to Upper Plains Road, shows four numbered sections with fencelines, trees, details of growing crops, sites of a homestead, houses, a stable and a water race which runs through all sections. Sections one and two are listed as sold and three and four include acreages. Other adjacent property belongs to Cripps and McFarwalts, [handwriting difficult to decipher], while property across the Upper Plains Road includes the names of J.E. Chamberlain, Mr. Cohalton, Mr. McLeod. Chamberlain Street is marked. A locality plan of Chamberlain's Estate, Upper Plains is mounted in top left corner. This gives the proximity of the Chamberlain's estate to Masterton. A nearby village is included and streets are named. The site of the railway station and railway line are marked. Four cuttings from the sale notice of Chamberlain's estate are mounted along the top of this map. Notices refer to the water supply, a description of the land, conditions of sale relating to the terms of interest as well as the locality plan. Title partly supplied by cataloguer.
