Description: Arthur Harrison recalls his days as a raw young teacher fresh from college in a one-roomed school at Round Hill - a dozen or so miles from Riverton. Explains how it was a thriving gold-mining area. Mentions the Chinese and describes how industrious they were. Explains how the Chinese had a veneration for the teacher, with an implicit trust in him, often calling on him to be their banker.
