Description: View across the Kaipara River towards Helensville and the railway station. Moored at the wharf are the sailing ship Hazel Craig, and SS Aotea. Another steamship (unidentified) is hauled from the water on the left. Photograph taken by Albert Percy Godber, 1912. This image is a film negative copy taken from the print in Godber Album Vol 110, p 185 (PA1-q-103). The inscription beneath the image lists the ship to the right of the Hazel Craig as the SS Aotea, though note on the back of the file print reads "SS Aotea hauled out". This negative is a film negative copy taken from a print at Pa1-q-103 (Godber Album vol 110, p 185) Inscriptions: Album page - beneath image - Helensville and the River. "S.S. Aotea" The SS Aotea is probably a steamship of 263 grt), schooner rigged, built at Pyrmont, Sydney, in 1898. Regitered at the Port of Sydney in 1898, and at the Port of Auckland in 1899.
