Description: Contains two copies of a document, "The History of Te Rama-Apakura Greenstone Axe". This is made up of an English language narrative; an extract from Bay of Islands Maori Land Court Taitokerau, Minute Book 19 - Folios 65/73, regarding Te Rama-Apakura Greenstone Axe; and evidence of William Cooper. Only one of the copies has both an English and Maori language version of William Cooper's evidence. One includes only the Maori version. The document is typed on Tairawhiti Maori Hockey Federation letterhead. Also five loose sheets "Te Whatuiapiti" [Eponymous ancestor of Ngai Te Whatuiapiti tribe of Hawke's Bay]; "Maori language maramataka, which lists days for planting/not planting and other activities, according to the lunar cycle; "Ramaapakura Greenstone Axe; an 'extract from a sheet of paper handed by Te Kauru Hohepa to the Court during the hearing of claims to the above named Axe'"; blank telegram form; loose sheet with handwritten notes.
