The album opens at Napier City and includes views of places, bush scenery, rivers, lakes, and camps as the party moves through Hawke's Bay, the Gisborne Region, the Bay of Plenty, then across and into Taranaki via Mount Messenger and back to Wellington via New Plymouth and Wanganui. Some prints in this collection have notes on the back in a consistant, neat handwriting. In three cases these are signed E N Webster, who advises that he arrived in Wellington 5 February 1918, and left 15 June 1922. During this period, as well as photographing Wellington and district, he travelled on holiday to New Zealand cities and tourist destinations. The photographs were taken between 1919 and 1921 judging from the prints that have dates. His second name was Norman, and this is the name he used to sign letters on postcards sent from Christchurch in 1919 to his mother, and a friend called May. There is also a note attached to an illustration of Ben Lomond in the collection on which he signs himself Norman Webster. Information on postcards indicate that he came from Australia, and in 1916 lived at Nambour, Queensland. Description: View of the township at Kawhia on the inner north-western shoreline of the Kawhia Harbour, Otorohanga District. Shows the general store (Ward's Hall) and various buildings on the waterfront, boats in the sand, and a large Pohutukawa tree growing on the hill above the bay. Photograph taken circa 1920s, by an unidentified photographer. Additional information about the two storied buldling supplied by a researcher 'Two-storey building in foreground with Ward Bros sign was built in 1903 by Scott. It had a business on the ground floor and a hall above known as Scott's Hall. In 1923 WP Ward purchased the building on behalf of Ward Bros (engineering & plumbing) and the hall was later referred to as Ward's Hall.
