Description: Invitation shows four vignettes (of Wellington Harbour, Lyttelton Harbour, Auckland Harbour, and Port Chalmers Harbour), inset portraits of Their Majesties, and figures of a European soldier and a Maori chief. The British crest is at top centre. Two copies of this work at this reference number. Each differs slightly, one having been printed with slightly larger, heavier dots of colour, giving a darker overall effect (easily studied through a strong magnifying glass). Exhibited in 'Petone Days; Photographs by Percy Godber 1900-1920 (Exhibition)' Other Titles - His Majesty's Ministers for New Zealand request the honor of the presence of [Mr and Mrs G N Goldie] to witness the ceremony...by Their Royal Highnesses. Description: Shows a view down the Gorge at Kaiwharawhara, looking towards Wellington Harbour. The area contains many industrial buildings. Verso of card contains a message to Master Tam Eggars from his friend Noel, and is dated 23 January 1917. The original photograph would have been taken before 1907, as the Rainbow Hotel seen in the distance, was demolished early 1907. Description: A view of the waterfront at Kawhia, Waikato region, with St Elmo boarding house in the foreground. Includes a cliff at each end of the inlet and houses around the harbour. At the far end amongst some houses is a large Norfolk Pine tree. The two storey building immediately behind the Norfolk pine had a business on the ground floor and a hall above which was called Scott's Hall. Photograph taken between 1908-1915 by Jonathan Ltd. August 2022, researcher provided information about the two storey building immediately behind the Norfolk pine It was built in 1903. and later became known as Ward's Hall and was used as a cinema from about 1914 to the early 1950s.
