Description: "Ub" 331; a Ub class steam locomotive, type 4-6-0, built by Baldwin. Photograph taken by Albert Percy Godber between 1901 and 1945 at the Petone Railway Workshops. Four men are standing beside the locomotive; two are named in the caption for the original print at Pa1-q-101 (Godber Album vol 108, p 48), W McEvoy on the far right, and T Stokes in a light-coloured suit, on the right of the other three men. Original print at Pa1-q-101 (Godber Album vol 108, p 48). Caption reads: 1928 Royal engine. "Ub" 331 was built by Baldwin Locomotive Works, Philadelphia (maker's no 18577/01), entered service on the 17th of June 1901 and was written off in March 1955.
