Two unidentified men stand by a sluice-way in the centre foreground. Two buildings stand on the right and left. Photograph taken circa 1930s by Herbert Merle Sweney. Published in 'Making New Zealand' Vol 2, No 30, page 12 Making New Zealand caption reads: "Gold mining has devastated parts of New Zealand.
