Description: Shows a French secret service official leaning over his desk reprimanding 3 secret service agents. Beside his desk is a can of white paint and a paint brush and some disguises hanging on a coat stand. Refers to the French intelligence service (DGSE) which was responsible for the sinking of the Greenpeace ship the 'Rainbow Warrior' in Auckland Harbour. Two other agents were tried and imprisoned for their part in the sinking. The French government was forced to admit that they had ordered the sinking after first trying to cover up their involvement. In the tray sits the '1979 Scott report recommending W'gton airport runway extension'. Description: The cartoon shows an elderly gentleman standing in front of a fire reading a newspaper. He is not at all happy with what he reads. On the surrounding walls are numerous cricket pictures and trophies. Refers to the 1981 Springbok tour, New Zealand cricket, New Zealand's international relations and to the slogan "don't mix politics with sport" voiced by those who supported sporting contacts with South Africa under apartheid.
