Description: Contains miscellaneous lantern slides of New Zealand scenes, mostly dated ca 1907. Likely to have been photographed by Butcher. Landscapes include a hand-coloured slide of a Burton Brothers photograph of Lake Wakatipu from Kinlock, unidentified coastal towns and harbour views (one featuring an obelisk monument), rock formations, and river scenes (some bridges). Images of Wellington include the Provincial Council Building, view of Thorndon (Molesworth Street), and boats on the beach in Island Bay with Tapu Te Ranga Island in the background. Images of Napier include newly planted Norfolk Pine trees on Marine Parade and outer harbour wharf scene. Dunedin Botanic Gardens, hand coloured images of the interior of an unidentified fern houses, and a series of views of Mount Taranaki and the surrounding area are included. Also contains sepia toned images of a geyser and unidentified Maori boys in a hot pool [Rotorua?] as well as a formal portrait of an unidentified Maori girl. Includes a brightly hand coloured sky, a horse and cart outside an unidentified property, and image of an explosion at sea. Some images have vignettes. Quantity: 30 b&w lantern slide(s). Description: Photographs taken by Noreen H Burke, The Evening Post, P H Jauncey, and the Burton Brothers. Many images are of parts of Wellington, Evans Bay, Parliament Buildings, the Cenotaph, the Botanic Garden and views of the city. Others include people in boats, flying boats, views of the Tukituki River Hawke's Bay, All Saints Church Palmerston North, Turuturu-moki Pa near Hawera Taranaki, the Turi and Rongorongo memorial canoe at Patea, and a group of people which include Prime Minister Holyoake and US President Johnson.
