Description: Six-panelled account giving further information about Nicholas Young, his life and premature death in Hawaii and his association with Captain Cook. These illustrations were reproduced in New Zealand newspapers during the late 1940s and 1950s. The newspapers included The Evening Post, Auckland Star, Christchurch Star Sun, Taranaki Herald, Southern Cross, Students' Digest, Greymouth Evening Star, Evening Star (Sports) Dunedin, and the Southland Daily News. In 1953, 48 of them were collected and published as a booklet called 'It happened in New Zealand' by Ross Gore. Information supplied by a great-niece of Nicholas Young to the cartoonist and supplementing his lack of knowledge displayed in a previous cartoon (B-140-017) Quantity: 1 drawing(s).
