Description: View looking south-west from Bell Hill. In the foreground is a tidal area and jetty. At the end of the jetty are W H Cutten's store and Johnny Jones' store. Premises on Princes Street can be seen and other commercial buildings and dwellings. For identification of the buildings in the photograph see `View of Dunedin from Church Hill' by G B Shaw, Nov 1851, with key. Purported to be the earliest photograph of Dunedin.
