Description: Carte de visite portrait of Ihaka Whaanga taken ca 1870s by American Photographic Company of Auckland. The korowai being worn by Ihaka Whaanga, and the kaitaka draped over his shoulder to display the taaniko border, appear in other portraits by the American Photographic Company and were probably owned by the studio.
