Inscriptions: Photographer's title on negative - bottom right - 188. Paikakariki [sic]. W&B Belmont was owned by contractor J Saunders and used on construction and maintenance of the Wellington and Manawatu Railway until 1888. Locomotive No 8 arrived in Wellington in March 1886.
