Description: Photographic prints relating to John Reece Cole, his family, friends, and professional life. Apart from one image taken circa 1890s, the photographs were taken between 1916 and 1989. Photographs were taken by various photographers including Delys Reed and John Reece Cole. Some photographers are unknown. Includes: - Carte de visite portrait of Cole's grandmother Martha Dove, taken circa 1890s by London photographer W Saunders. - Studio portraits of Cole as an infant and young boy, including with his mother Florence Inkpen. - Image showing the door and interior of Frank Sargeson's Takapuna bach, probably taken in the early 1940s. - Photograph showing Cole in airforce uniform with friend in Time Square, New York City. - Image of Cole with artist Eric Lee-Johnson and his family posing by car in countryside near Waimamaku. - Images relating to Cole's work at the Alexander Turnbull Library, including examining items with J C Beaglehole and cabinet minister David Seath. - Four images taken at New Zealand Society of Authors party at Ian Cross's house, including several showing Delys Reed sitting with Kiriwai Mete. - Other images taken during the 1970s and 1980s showing Cole, family members or friends at his home in Karaka Bay, Wellington, including in the garden or house, or on deck with views of the Wellington Harbour entrance beyond.
