Description: Views of the Otago Region taken by unidentified photographers, circa 1870s to 1895. Many show buildings in Dunedin, including one house `Lisburn House' built for the Fulton family in 1865; also commercial buildings, church buildings, school buildings (Otago Boys' High School), and Dunedin Gaol. The church buildings include the Chapel in Leith Street, the Chapel in Great King Street, and the Baptist Chapel. Houses, stores and industrial buildings are shown, along with shipping activity in the port. In the centre and right foreground are a park and a road, along which a couple is walking. Description: Photographs on album pages: photograph of Mount Peel Station, its interior and grounds including Mr Acland in his study, his daughters and their friends identified by inititals, including one of L D Acland and B B Acland, the latter knitting a sock, and the Church of the Holy Innocence viewed across a field of hay stacks with the forest planted by Acland behind it; more of the same women boating and picnicking, including a view of a gorge taken by Harriet Acland, a church interior and Bishop Harper playing cricket with a young boy; Ilam homestead covered in clematis with balconies and verandahs and extensive grounds next to the Avon River, and the Watts Russell family group at Pareora August 1894 with their dog and saddled horses in the background; the West Coast Times printing office with the men outside it, C G Tripp and family and a Centerbury view; and two views of Tripp's homestead at Orari. Description: River in the foreground, a broad field with cows grazing beyond, with trees, a church and other buildings in the background and hills in the distance. The title appears to be incorrect. There is no "All Saints Church" at Taita (or at Lower Hutt). The main church at Taita, Christ Church is much closer to the hill than the church shown here, there is no large house beside it, its spire is at the opposite end of the roof when viewed from the river and the distance from the river is too small. The view may be of Lower Hutt and a different church. The nearest All Saints Church was a Methodist one at Belmont.
