Description: Photographs of the West Coast of the South Island, Otago and Southland, made for publication in the New Zealand Free Lance, 1927 to 1950. Includes a painting of the `Philip Laing' and `John Wickliffe' in Port Chalmers in 1848, painted by D O Robertson in 1898 and photographed by De Maus. Also includes a photograph of Gabriels Gully, Lawrence, in 1862, and later photographs of memorials to Gabriel Read. Photographers include W E Johnson, J D S Roberts, G D Anderson, D Pickard, Whites Aviation, D A De Maus and L A Inkster. Quantity: 47 b&w original photographic print(s).
