Description: The collection comprises photocopies of (1) article from the `Greymouth evening star' on the history of undertaking in Greymouth (25 Feb 1989); (2) burial book of Westland Funeral Services (1888-1947); (3) alphabetical list with name, date of burial, age, place of burial if not Greymouth from 1941 to 1954; (4) alphabetical listing with name, burial date, age, cemetery and plot number covering 1944 to 1964; and (5) notebook with funeral notices (Jan 1963-Jan 1964) and statistics on numbers of funerals (1950-2001) Many of the burials took place outside Greymouth including No Town, Cobden, Ahaura, Stillwater, Nelson Creek, Kumara, Karamea, Reefton and Boatmans. As well as names, the Westland Funeral Services records can include death and burial dates and places, age and birthplace. Description: Shows a Maori leader signing the Treaty of Waitangi with a feather pen. Seated in front of him is the Governor-General, who is pointing to the places on the document that need to be signed. There is a group of Maori men looking on and sausages cooking on a barbecue near by. There is a ship in the distance behind them. Refers to the gains made by both sides on the signing of The Treaty of Waitangi. Extended Title - Sign here ... and here ... and here... O.K. It's hastily and inexpertly drawn up, ambiguous and contradictory in content and chaotic in execution but ... We get Bastion Point, the Raglan Golf Course, Athletic Park and half of Dunedin and Greymouth ... And a holiday once a year. This should amuse our Gracious Queen. Quantity: 1 photocopy/ies.
