Description: Contains whakapapa and waiata from the South Wairarapa, written in a variety of hands (much of the whakapapa seems to focus on Hemi Te Miha and the Te Whaiti family); also contains land records including lists of owners of various blocks and respective shares, and records of the members of various hapu (Ngati Rakairangi, Ngati Moe, Ngati Tukaiora, Ngati Te Rangitawhanga); also contains a letter from Henare Te Whaiti to Maui Pomare about politics; also contains a letter from Paora Waitere of Papawai to Kaihau Te Whaiti enclosing some waiata There is a detailed account by Matina Ruta Tamaiwhakakiteaterangi of the Potangaroa hui, written in 1905; there is also a letter written by Matina about the succession to Paora Tihi; there is also a subscription form for the Maori Peace Memorial to be erected in Masterton Park, a copy of Te Kahiti o Niu Tireni from 1920, and some forms associated with the Rongokako Maori Council; there are some architectural plans for a house for J Te Whaiti at Pirinoa prepared in 1925 (J Te Whaiti is possibly Hohaia Te Whaiti aka Joe Te Whaiti)

Description: Contains detailed whakapapa of south Wairarapa hapu, Ngati Porou, Ngati Tuwharetoa and Whanganui, lists of battles involving Wairarapa people with details of deaths, lists of owners of the Wharepu land blocks and minutes of a hui held to discuss the sale of Lake Wairarapa; in these minutes, there is a list of the kaumatua in attendance, verbatim comments of participants, notes about how the Ngati Hamua hapu acquired rights in the lake, and discussions of the rights and uses of various hapu of certain sections of the lake Physical Description: Black boards, 33 cm.
