Description: British soldiers standing in ranks and fighting at Okaihau with Puketutu Pa in the middle distance. Lake Omapere to the right. A group of Maori seated and listening to an orator with soldiers on the left. A copy of works showing the same scene by Cyprian Bridge and John Williams, variously described as showing Mawe, Puketutu Pa and Okaihou or Okaihau. Compare Williams' Okaihou May 8th 1845 (A-079-029), his Mawe near Okaihau (A-079-014) and Bridge's Sketch of the action at Mawe (A-079-008) and Battle for Puketutu Pa, 1845 (A-079-033). Page, the copyist, was in the 58th Regiment and fought in Northland under Cyprian Bridge in 1845 Other Titles - Battle scene, Maori wars. Former title. Okaihou.
