Description: A hut in a clearing with the river in the background, trees nearby Title and date from back: probably added at later date possibly by Edith Swainson Artist's monogram matches that of William Swainson; however the style is not typical of his work. He did not commonly use ink and wash; nor is he known to have visited Manawatu, where his daughter Edith lived. He may have redrawn or drawn over and initialled a drawing of hers.
