Description: The collection comprises a history of the Fitchett family of Ohiro, Brooklyn, by Dr Fitchett, who lives in Brooklyn. The family is descended from William Fitchett (b 1730) of Bretby, Derbyshire. John Fitchett arrived in Wellington on the `London' in May, 1842, with his wife, Louisa, settling in Brooklyn and developed Ohiro Farm. Dr Fitchett describes various members of the family, their lives, descendants, etc, documenting events from family, official and local government sources.
