In 2005 the property, and the additional land added over the years, was farmed by his great-grandnephew Norman and wife Wendy and was awarded the NZ Century Farm & Station award to mark 100 years of continuous ownership by one family. Hard running fight near Rotorua' this includes a copy of a letter from Gilbert Mair to his brother Robert Mair, written from Ohinemutu in 1870 and copies of other letters. Draft of `The story of the Mahuhu' which Cowan describes as a Maori-Polynesian immigrant vessel, also includes a copy of a published article by the same title.
