Description: Contains research copies of published newspapers and articles and unpublished manuscripts and papers from the Alexander Turnbull Library, Maori Purposes Fund Board, the Polynesian Society, the Native Land Court and from private collections such as the papers of Henare Matua, Te Taiawhio Te Tau and Major Tunuiarangi which were used for a Wairarapa claim. Much of this material is also in electronic format. Relationship complexity - The Henare Matua papers have been accessioned as a separate collection, reference number MS-Papers-8567. However, for the purposes of maintaining the original research collection, copies of some of the Henare Matua papers remain in this collection. This is a collection of research papers contributing to a Wairarapa claim completed by Frances Reiri-Smith and Kaya Matiaha.
