Original owner of Dalmore were James Gilchrist Paterson and his half brother Joseph Todd who acquired 302 acres in 1898. Todd sold his half share to Paterson in 1902. In 2005 the property at Scotts Gap, 11 kilometres from Otautau, was owned by the Clive and his wife Norma Anne Paterson & was awarded the New Zealand Century Farm and Station award to mark over 100 years of continuous ownership by one family.
