Description: Photographs of the North Island of New Zealand taken by Les Cleveland, 1957 to 2006. Information relating to the content as well as the date taken and the date printed, is on the rear of most prints. Includes photographs of buildings, mainly commercial premises, in Wellington and Wanganui, 1957-1959. Also contains images of two old farm cottages in the Wairarapa, a tree house in Paihiatua, a car yard in Petone, and a shop reusing ammunition boxes from World War II as a flowerbed in Palmerston North. A number of photographs from 2002 document the protest around the building of the inner city bypass in Wellington. These images feature Tonks Avenue, protestors, affected buildings, an individual who was to be being evicted, and protest art. Two 2006 mages show demolition on Kensington Lane. Images of people include two women drinking beer in Ohingaiti, a motorcycle family in Turangi, and young children climing on a wooden sculpture in Porirua. A series of Maori carvings in public spaces includes sculptures on the Petone Foreshore, in Te Rauparaha Park, Porirua, and Tokaanu. Description: Collection comprising material accumulated by Maree Kibblewhite relating to her life and interests; particuarly in theatre and music, Palmerston North, and ephemera. Some material relates to school and amateur productions of works by New Zealand composers. Namely: a vocal score of Ross Harris' The Clockmaker; programmes and 6 photographs of St Matthews Collegiate and Rathkeale College, Masterton, production of Philip Norman's `A Stab in the Dark', 1977; and the libretto for this production. Also includes a scrapbook album containing correspondence, handouts, programmes, clippings and photographs relating to the 1971 production of Jenny McLeod's `Under the Sun', of which Moxon was a member of the cast. Description: Chiefly photographic prints and corresponding negatives, chiefly images taken by John Scobie at ceremonies and gatherings on 21-22 November 1998 celebrating Tongariro National Park's dual World Heritage site status. This event also celebrated the 25th anniversary of the World Heritage Convention of 1972. Also copies (made by a friend of Scobie's) of early photographs of the area, including the building of the Tongariro Chateau. Also a photograph of Mangawhero Timber Company bridge on the Mangawhero River taken circa 1920s by an unidentified photographer. Includes photographs depicting the centenary of the completion of the North Island main trunk line, including the re-enactment of the drving of the last spike, taken Nov 2008 by John Scobie. It focuses on Henry Steffert who first developed the family farm obtained via a government ballot, forest clearence, the Hatrick Riverboats on the Whanganui River, establishment of the Aukopae community in the 1920s with a primary school and improved road access, the Aukopae road tunnel, the Depression era work camp, the switch from dairy farming to sheep and cattle farming, the Model A Ford cars, the Gilbransen radio, the advent of electricity in 1949 and aerial topdressing in 1951, socialising with neighbours and activities such as horse racing, travelling, dances at Te Whakarae hall. Includes profiles of family members Norah Steffert, Mary Steffert (nee Kavanagh), Arthur Hebert Steffert (1908-1994), Thomas Eugene Steffert (1915-2003). Source of title - Transcribed from item Brian Bartram is the grandson of Henry Steffert and Mary Steffert (nee Kavanagh) and son of Norah Bartram (nee Steffert).
