Description: Folder contains Goodfellow's unpublished memoir "Tis a memoir". Goodfellow started work with the New Zealand Railways in 1956 and remained in employment with them for over thirty years. This memoir details life with the Railways and Goodfellow's involvement with the Amalgamated Society of Railways Servants. He became Tauranga ASRS Branch Secretary in 1957. The memoir also recounts Goodfellows association with the New Zealand Labour Party and the Tauranga Branch, of which he ran as local delegate and political candidate. Goodfellow comments on the General Elections of 1957 and 1960. Near the end of the narrative Goodfellow and his family transfer to Wellington for health reasons. Most of this material covers the period of the 1950s and 1960s. Source of title - Transcribed from item Variations in title - `Tis a memoir' Goodfellow worked as a New Zealand Railway offical for over thirty years.
