Description: Three maps of Rangitoto survey district. The first (Accn 1828) shows cadastral information of blocks I, II, V, X11 in the Tiritiri survey district, namely Motutapu Island, with reference to O.L.C. 164, DP 12402, land lots, the Defence reserve, Hurakia (Rakino) Island, and Waiheke Island's Matiatia Bay. The second (Accn 1829) shows blocks X, XI, XIII of Rangitoto and Otahuhu survey districts, specifically the Tamaki River, Karaka Bay, Motukorea or Brown's Island, the base of Motutapu Island, and the Motuihi Island domain in the Waitemata Harbour. The third (Accn 1830) shows block IV, the Pt. Rangitoto island Domain and the recreation reserve, lot 28279 and four smaller recreation reserves. Description: Drawn on a cadastral base map of the Lower Hutt industrial area, bounded by the Waiwhetu River, the Hutt River and the roads Bell, Park, Seaview and Gracefield, the annotations show sections sold (in red) and sections open for selection (in green). The sections are numbered with acreages, and the railway line runs through the area. Areas sold include the names Schweppes Ltd., ESW Paul, Wm Cable & Co., Wellington Concrete Pipe Coy., Ford Motor Co., Hume Pipe Coy., Vacuum Oil Coy., Texas Oil Coy., CH Morley, WA Cairns. Railway workshops, drainage easements, sewers, septic tanks, pumping stations, a quarry and watermains are marked. Areas open for selection are unnamed. The Hutt Park, the Waiwhetu Pa and its cemetery are shown. Unpublished base map: Industrial area Hutt Valley settlement [s.d]. Glued to the top centre-left of the map is a typed note addressed to Mr Davis, Lands Office, dated 24/5/1943. It states: 'All this land now occupied by American or Air Force.
