Description: The papers consist of: Application form submitted by Stu Nicolson; bound history of family and farm entitled `Bower Farm 1882-2008, home to five generations of Nicolsons'; land documents. See MS-Papers-9389-31 for published summary & photographs. Original owner was Donald Nicolson who purchased a 320 acre farm at Poolburn which he named `Bower Farm' after his home parish in Scotland. In 2008 the land is owned by his great grandson Stuart Nicolson and wife and has been increased to 920 acres and 500 acres of neighbouring land leased. In 2008 the property was awarded the New Zealand Century Farm and Station award to mark over 100 years of continuous ownership by one family. Quantity: 1 folder(s).
