Other recurring characters include his press secretary and political advisor, Miss Direct; Max, an "uncivil servant" and his right hand man, he is always portrayed as a bald fellow wearing glasses; Rose, the Politician's long suffering wife; and Jim, his hard-working parliamentary colleague and best friend. (For character sheet see DCDL-0025477). As at mid 2015 'The Politician' runs infrequently in the Dominion Post, and is published in Switzerland, Norway, Sweden and South Africa. Part of the NZ Cartoon Archive. Other Titles - The Politician David Fletcher was born in the UK in 1952 and later immigrated to New Zealand.
