Original owner of the property was William Pirie who acquired 232 acres in 1900. In 1914 a further 212 acres were purchased from Colin Gerrard. In 2005 the land was farmed by his son James and grandson, David Pirie and was awarded the NZ Century Farm & Station award to mark 100 years of continuous ownership by one family.
