Description: Group of men (including two shop assistants) reading the war news outside the general store in Tokomaru Bay. A group of children and a male teacher are standing on the verandah gathered around the `War News' noticeboard. The shop front window displaying items of clothing can be seen behind the men in the centre of the photograph. Sign on the righthand side of the store reads `Oates Bros, Tailoring Dept. W. McCulloch, manager'. Photograph possibly taken by Oates Bros of Tokomaru Bay, ca 1915. Note on back of file print reads: "Only 1/2 of neg is still intact - the rest has been shattered."
