Description: Photographs of a military parade on Lambton Quay as part of the visit by the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York consisting of teams of eight horses pulling small carriages on their way to the Battery with spectators lining the street; No.3 Gun Detachment at a military tournament in November 1891 at Hutt Race Course standing with their gun the participants being Sgt Carter, Br Daniels, Gunners Brown, Petrie, Curtis, Bott, Renwick, Raynor, and Quilice(?); No.1 (Gun Detachment?) with their gun, standing next to a tent in Miramar in 1898 the participants being Gibson, Coombes, Coleman, Pettiecuck(?), Lyon, Boyes, Fraser, Feeney, Hill, Brown, Spence, Courtney, and Truman; and a large group of men possibly of D battery of Wellington militia holding poles with paddles at the end with circles painted on them (markers). Some of the men are in uniform or partial uniform and there are targets behind them. Photographer(s) unidentified. Quantity: 4 b&w original photographic print(s).

Description: A view of Collingwood between 1886 and 1891. The large building on the left with the jetty at back is the public hall and the large building, next but one is the Hotel. Dark building with verandah is F Sutton's general store. Facing camera, bootmaker (left), the next three are William C Riley's general store, then the library and museum. Right hand side of street: foreground - tiny house was a shop kept by an old one-eyed ex-whaler, John Fisher, next is the post office and residence. The two gables (partly obscured) was G Riley's Boarding House. Steamer at wharf could possibly be the Lady Barkley and sailing boat the ketch `Comet'.
