Description: Transparency slides of Mr E G Williams' (Edmund Gardner Williams') travel in New Zealand in 1959. This sheet of slides includes a group of seagulls, ducks and trout at Queenstown, Lake Wanaka in autumn, the road from Queenstown to Kingston from bus, road to Lumsden, Lake Manapouri from the Waiau River, Lake Te Anau from the road, Te Anau southern fiord, waterfall, road through beech forest after coming through the Homer Tunnel, looking down the Cleddau River, Mitre Peak from the hotel, looking over Cleddau River to Arthur Valley, Bowen Falls from airstrip, view of Milford Sound on launch trip. Slides on this sheet are numbered 232-264 with gaps for those removed for lectures on New Zealand. Arrangement: Mr Williams transferred slides (nos. 237, 239-240, 245-247, 252-252, 261, 263) showing Lake Manapouri from a view point, Te Anau township, road and hills in the area, the Homer Tunnel, looking down from the tunnel to Milford Sound, looking up at Mount Tutoko from the road, Mitre Peak from the hotel and looking back at the hotel, looking up the Cleddau Valley, looking down the Cleddau River to Mitre Peak, looking across to Arthur Valley, Sinbad Gully and Mitre Peak, general view over the Milford Sound airstrip, and Milford Sound from a launch trip. These were taken as part of a representative collection on New Zealand for various lectures which he gave when he returned to England. The lecture series are filed in later sequences.
