Description: One of a series of photographs taken by Temple entitled `Images of Wellington'. Aerial view of Wellington taken over Khandallah. The Ngaio Gorge Road is in the immediate foreground, as well as the motorway, Thorndon Container Wharf, houses in Wadestown. The railway yards, Thorndon and CBD can be seen in the middle distance. Taken at sunrise (note lack of vehicles on the motorway). Description: Photographs, chiefly taken by Albert Percy Godber, including family portraits, areas where he lived, Petone and the Petone Fire Brigade, railways, the Hutt Valley, Wellington, and areas in the upper North Island. The family photographs show his immediate family (his wife Laura (nee Zinckgraf), and children William Albert and Phyllis Mary); groups including his father and mother Charles and Mary Ann Godber, his brother Harry Leonard and wife Annie and their daughter Constance Alice, and Laura's brother Charles Albert Zinckgraf. Godber was a fireman with the Petone Fire Brigade, and there are photographs of groups of firemen and fire fighting equipment, and displays of methods of fire fighting. Associated with Godber's work with New Zealand Railways, and particularly at the Petone Railway Workshops, there are views of various workshop buildings, groups of railway workers; one of M J Mack (General Secretary of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants of New Zealand); images of damage to rolling stock after railway accidents; trains; the Raurimu Spiral; railway viaducts; logging railways; and railway stations. Photographs taken in the northern part of the North Island include coal mines, rock formations, hot springs at Te Aroha and Kamo; Whangarei and the Wairua Falls; suburbs of Auckland including Newmarket, Remuera, Parnell, Onehunga, and Ellerslie Race Course.
