Description: Colour slide photographs taken by John Reinder Fijn of Turangawaewae Marae and Maori Parliament buildings at Ngaruawahia. Images include the powhiri area and seating in front of the marae, kuia sitting on the mahau, inlaid paua shells, King Koroki's flag, a waka in the waka house, two unidentified girls in the garden, and a painted stone water feature. Description: View from across the Waikato River towards the main buildings of the Maori king's residence. The long low building on the left is the 'General's quarters', the 'King's palace' is in the centre with dark red barge boards, the 'council chambers' are futher to the right and the closest building and the flagstaff is on the far right.
