National Party President Michelle Boag spends the weekend putting Bill English's cabinet together, not his political cabinet but rather his coffin. Maurice Williamson, National Party MP makes Michelle Boag walk the plank of the National Party Pirate ship. Labour Party leader and Prime Minister, Helen Clark, gets ready to hang Winston Peters. As the country seeks improved work conditions, leave provisions and longer holidays, the Sri Lankan boat people show a keeness to come to New Zealand to work. Australian Prime Minister, John Howard, seeks to differentiate between asylum seekers and people and abos (aborigines) and people. Australian rugby players beat up the referee thinking someone called him a refugee. Helen Clarke (Eve) trys to tempt Peter Dunne (Adam) into eating an apple. Jim Andrton looks on from a tree as a serpent. Helen Clark paces the floor wondering which of the Parties, the Greens or United Future, are most infuriating. An Israeli soldier suggests a reporter could say that in the latest Israeli attack on Palestine that "Palestinian arms were uncovered", he holds a persons left arm in his hand. Description: View from cleared hills with several native trees, a road winding down to the right, with a gate and a man on a dray being pulled by two horses. The harbour with two ships centre and centre right, with Somes Island to the right. On the left in the middle distance, part of Thorndon, with St Paul's Church and a jetty. The Western hills, the Hutt Valley, Eastbourne and the Tararuas in the distance. Probably a view from above The Glen in Kelburn Inscriptions: Recto - bottom right - C.D.Barraud. 1870 Quantity: 1 watercolour(s). Physical Description: Watercolour and Chinese white 455 x 785 mm Provenance: Hung with a watercolour of Lake Coleridge Station, 1870 (D-022-007), in Government House, Wellington, during the governorship of Sir George Grey. Sold at auction in Wellington to the vendor's grandfather, also a Mr Scrymgeour (or Scrimgeour) in the 1880s or 1890s. Mr Scrymgeour migrated to Australia in the early 1900s to Goondawindi Station. The paintings passed to his son (died 1968) then to his grandson, William John Tyndal Scrymgeour, born ca 1922, of "Arran", Warwick, Queensland.

Description: View from the lower slopes between Brooklyn and Mount Cook, with cows, a herdsman and his dog on the road in the foreground. On the right lie the swamps of Te Aro, with Te Aro Pa visible along the foreshore, along with scattered houses. To the left of the pa area, the road passing diagonally across the plain is probably Cuba Street. The most prominent building on the foreshore is either the Maori or the Wesleyan Chapel in Manners St. The cliff at the water's edge to the left is Clay Point with Plimmer's Ark visible moored in the water at its base. On the far left in the plain area, the large church building is St Peter's, Willis St. Thorndon is in the background to the left, with Pipitea Point (now Thorndon Quay) and Kumutoto Spit (now Midland Park) both visible. The preliminary watercolour for this work is located at C-007-007 with title 'Te Aro and Thorndon, 1852'. It is dated 1852 and lacks the cows, herdsman and dog of C-007-0011, but shows more of the swamps of Te Aro, with Waitangi Creek meandering through them. The building details are less clear in the preliminary work. Reproduced as a Turnbull Library Print, 1975 as part of the Colonial Wellington Series. Description: Shows a view of Wellington and the harbour from the ridge above Mt Cook, towards the hills on the western side of the harbour. It shows the flat area of Te Aro with Te Aro Pa close to the shore and other buildings in the foreground. Plimmer's Ark is on the waterfront to the left just beyond the Clay Point cliff. The large church building on the left is St Peter's, Willis Street, and the large building on the waterfront is either the Maori or the Wesleyan Chapel in Manners St. Thorndon is in the background with Pipitea Point (now Thorndon Quay) and Kumutoto Spit (now Midland Park) both visible.
