Description: Album recording a motoring and camping holiday through the South Island of New Zealand. This took in the New Zealand South Seas Exhibition in Dunedin and included the West Coast, Otago, and Canterbury. The central part of the album has images of Khandallah, Wellington, and the family home in that suburb. Family photographs include Doug on his Norton Motorcycle, and Jack and Neville similarly posed on a Douglas Motorcycle. Rene and Frank stand at the net holding tennis rackets, and mother has several images with young Joyce. The last part of the album recordes something of a holiday to Auckland where the family camped at Brown's Bay and took a trip to Kawau Island. A group shot on Mt Messanger on the way back and some views of Pukekura Park New Plymouth complete the album Quantity: 1 b&w original photographic print(s).

Description: Postcards of New Zealand made ca 1900s, from photographers who include Frank Denton, Henry Winkelmann and James Valentine. The largest groups are images of Auckland, Christchurch, Dundedin, Invercargill, and Lake Wakatipu. Other places include Wellington, Te Aroha, Nelson, Gore, Pukekura park New Plymouth, Ngaruawahia Bridge, the pink and white terraces, Lake Tarawera, the Whanganui River, Lake Te Anau, the Southern Alps, the Hermitage, and Milford Sound. There are also four portraits of Maori. Quantity: 5 b&w original photographic print(s) postcards. 66 b&w photo-mechanical print(s) postcards, many of which are hand coloured. Provenance: This group of postcards belonged to a Miss A H Jeffs of Hurstville, Sydney, and were sent to her by New Zealand correspondents, who like her, were interested in collecting post card images. The postal dates for all of them are 1906 and 1907.

Description: Most of the cards date from ca 1904 to ca 1920. New Zealand cities and towns are represented, including many notable buildings, monuments, and parks. Tourist destinations like Lake Wakatipu, the Whanganui river, and thermal areas feature. One group depict native forest as scenery. There are also memorial cards, the largest number for Richard Seddon, and one for T E Taylor Mayor of Christchurch. One card is of the famous female cross dresser and con-man/woman, Amy Bock. Two cards depict champion New Zealand rowers, Richard Arnst, William Webb, George Whelch, and W Fogwell. Several of the greeting cards, which are scattered throughout the album, depict Maoriland maidens. Another group of cards feature sheep, in flocks on the road, crossing bridges, and at pasture. There is also a group of cattle beasts including highland cattle. Thermal areas include Whakarewarewa, steaming cliffs on Lake Rotomahana, and Waimangu. Volcanoes include Mount Ngauruhoe erupting, Mount Ruapehu, and Mount Egmont. There are also views of the Southern Alps, and one view of the Franz Josef Glacier. Surveyors in the New Zealand backblocks

Description: Most of the images relate to a survey team (or teams) operating in the hill country west of the main road between Raetihi and National Park, centred in the area around Ruatiti. The two names in the album for the area are the Ruatiti Block which includes the Ruatiti Stream and the Manganuioteao River, and the Riariaki Block and trig immediatly to the north. There are images of team members, camp life (ie storing food, cutting hair, living quarters, rod fishing, and swimming), groups out on the job (ie cutting trees, making survey pegs, moving through the bush with packs and equipment, on horse back, returning from the hunt, packing in supplies, making observations, and constructing the Maungaroa trig station), and views of the native forest, and rivers. Interspersed among these photographs are others which include social occasions such as farewelling a survey team member, a motoring trip associated with a large house called "Pihautea," an amateur instrumental group, a cricket game in Nelson, and a group in Albert park Auckland.
