He is a handy man anywhere; can manage a hotel, stalk deer, handle pack horses, build a hut, as well as being competent in sheep station routine." Reg Ferguson was a shepherd, deer hunter and publican of the Bealey Hotel. From a well known Springfield family, Reg and his brothers worked at Grasmere during the 1930s and 1940s.
