Date: 2015

From: Fletcher, David, 1952- :Digital cartoons

By: Dominion post (Newspaper)

Reference: DCDL-0030468

Description: 'The Politician' cartoon strip. Jim tells The Politician that recreational fishers are complaining about "the new licensing system". The reason is that "the licences are proving to be more elusive than the fish they're trying to catch!" The Department of Conservation which manages the Taupo fishery with Ngati Tuwharetoa in December 2014 replaced the former paper-based system by introducing an online system for anglers to buy their licence and receive a digital copy. For those not having access to a computer obtaining a licence became difficult. Taupo fishing guides and tackle shop owners claimed that they had to deal with extra work and more frustration over the new system. Quantity: 1 digital cartoon(s).
