There is a tree stump in the left foreground. The New Zealand gazetteer lists two homesteads called "Viewfield". Description: St Patrick's Church, Palmerston North, with scaffolding around the front and the tower. Photograph taken by unidentified photographer ca. 1930s. Where the scaffolding is cracks were being checked and repaired, and the St Patrick's statue was being cleaned. The pigeons were a bit of a problem The photo was taken about 16 or 17 years before the new presbytery was built. The old one was behind the church - Information on back of file print.
