Album is extensively captioned though few people are identified. - Motoring trip of North Island in January 1931, following family on a camping trip in a A-Model Ford. Route, as suggested by image order in album, goes via Hastings, Wairoa, Lake Waikaremoana, Morere, Gisborne, Opotiki, Ohope, Whakatane, Rotorua, Whakarewarewa, Tauranga, Waihi, Thames, Mercury Bay, Tui Glen, Waiwera, Waipu, Whangarei, Bay of Islands, Mount Messenger and Dawson Falls. Images feature camp grounds and sites, car with tent awning erected and with gear packed alongside, picnicking scenes, motoring scenes, and tourist sights on route. Description: A programme for a Maori concert performance featuring powhiri, love ditties, poi dances, action songs, haka, Maori games, poetry (patere), waiata, combination poi, toutou (war dance). There is a photographic portrait of Guide Rangi in the centre of the programme side. Soloists and named performers are: Wiremu Keepa, Ani Patiti, Kere Ratema, Hep Waretini. The non-programme side advertises Larsen's bus tours of the North Island, with an illustration of a bus and of a hostess with a microphone. There is also an illustration of a carved wooden figure, a woman performing with poi, and a cloaked man performing with a taiaha. Quantity: 1 colour photo-mechanical print(s) on folded pamphlet.. Description: Photographs of large groups of people taken on tours run by New Zealand Railways, using rail and road transport. The album covers various trips taken by large groups of unidentified people, mostly in the North Island, and only as far south as Tokaanu and the Whanganui River. They travelled by rail, by road and by ferry. Very few of the photographs have captions, but several are labelled "Commerce trip", and include images of farming, ploughing, stock sales yards, and a large group of men picnicking around a hangi (p. 14). Description: Album of newspaper and magazine cuttings, photographs, and prints of paintings in colour and black & white, mostly of Maori subjects, with some images of geographically interesting sites in New Zealand, including Mount Tongariro, Lake Waikaremoana, and the Waimangu Crater. The Maori material includes prints of paintings by Goldie, and prints of paintings of Maori by T. Ryan, some of which are copies of works by Goldie. There is a print of a painting by T. Ryan, showing Tomika Te Mutu, painting done from an original sketch by Horatio Gordon Robley. There are many publicity photographs of Maori, showing clothing, particularly cloaks, and showing various activities in Maori pa, including weaving, firelighting, poi dances, and waka poi. Also includes images of Maori waka on the Waikato River; 2 pages of Maori rock carvings, found in a cave shelter on the Kaingaroa Plains in 1926, and one on Maori god-sticks (Pou whakapakoko).

Description: Transparency slides of New Zealand selected by Mr Williams as a representative collection to be used in a series of lectures on his return to England. This group includes both slides Mr Williams took himself, and slides he purchased. This sheet shows aspects of the thermal areas at Whakarewarewa and Waimangu, and scenes of Maori life. These include a group using a hot pool for cooking, a group of poi dancers, women weaving flax, a Maori carver at work with a group of tourists watching, a Maori warrior at the gate of a pa, and a group of women and children wearing a variety of Maori cloaks. The next set are from the Tarawera area, and include views of the Frying Pan Lake, Gibraltar Rock; three images copied from publications, one showing the White Terraces, and two showing the effects of the Tarawera eruption in 1886; a launch for hire on Lake Tarawera; and the entrance to the buried village at Te Wairoa. The last two views show the beach near Gisborne looking south, and looking down over Gisborne township from a hill. The slides are not in his original numerical sequence, and are selected by subject relating to particular talks. Arrangement: These slides were selected by Mr Williams from his original sequence to create a representative collection of New Zealand images which he used in illustrated lectures on his return to England.
