Description: View from the land looking out into the fiord towards Mitre Peak. The view is framed by a tree to the left. There is a small steamer on the water, which may be either the 'Rotomahana' or 'Mararoa'. The steamer is probably a Union Steam Ship Company ship. It has a dark-coloured hull, probably dark green, and a red funnel. It may be the USS Co Rotomahana. Another privately-owned oil by the same artist, shows the Rotomahana.
