Includes photographs made to accompany stories relating to: Whitebaiting, floods, hedgehogs, movie extras and a Plimmerton fisherman. Also includes photographs of Kauri gum being weighed, lace being made, a cattle auction, handloom weaving, mussel dredging in the Coromandel, installation of the Lowburn Dredge, a homemade diving suit, a power pole in Russell, rural scenes in Hamilton. Includes the oldest blacksmith in New Zealand, a waterwheel in the Carrick Ranges, lapidiaries, a car with a gasometer, Kauri carvings, a farmer repairing a fence, water bicycles, a tower of matches. Also an unusual carrot, pony traction, a travelling repairman, North Auckland Inlet transport, a postman, a whitewashed mining cottage in Arrowtown, a model railway. After a meeting in the Town Hall, Auckland, which about 1,200 carpenters attended to hear speakers trace the history of the dispute with the Auckland Master Builders' Association, about 700 dismissed carpenters marched down Queen Street and up to Albert Park.
