Description: Photograph of the house built for Governor of New Zealand, Lt. General Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, at Lowry Bay, taken ca 1882 by an unidentified photographer. Shows the road leading up to the house, with a horse and carriage to the left. The house was built by Duncan Sinclair Source of title - Title supplied by Library Inscriptions: Mat recto - beneath image - Lowry Bay. 1882; Mount verso - top centre - Governors Residence built by Mr. Duncan Sinclair for Jervois. Laundry to right and Mr Sinclair's house behind that. Mr Sinclair at one time owned 500 acres of Lowry Bay. Quantity: 1 b&w original photographic print(s).
